When is a job not a job?

So I get home from work today and pull up the JS Online in order to see if the rumored Packers trade of A.J. Hawk for Marshawn Lynch has taken place, when I'm greeted with this: State reports anemic job growth in August.

Reading into the brief we find that Wisconsin only added 1900 private sector jobs in August.  Not great, but at least it's a positive.  Wisconsin also had a net loss of 2600 Government jobs.

The talking heads on the cable channels love to talk about this being an "off year" for elections, their way of describing the midterms when there's no big Presidential race for them to follow.  It's more difficult to follow the 37 elections for governor, the (coincidentally) 37 U.S. Senate seat races, 435 Congressional campaigns and all the state legislative races.

I can only re-emphasize the points of my last post on this subject in light of this report regarding the Jackson County DA deciding to no longer prosecute people who carry concealed weapons.  This is not going to go away before the election.  Take this arrow out of the GOP quiver now, beofre it gets aimed at Democrats.

Dave Westlake, thanks for playing...

Oh please, please, please, don't let the GOP forget the "Shakedown of BP" meme this Summer. Alas, I fear even they are not that stupid.  Still, it didn't stop WI GOP Senate hopeful Dave Westlake from stepping in it today.  I know next to nothing about Ron Johnson, but he already has my vote.
